Good Thursday Afternoon Blog Family. We are almost through another glorious week and I pray everyone is doing well. Keeping your eyes on Jesus and not all that is going on around you. Praise God.
This afternoon I want to talk to you about the anointing oil in the Bible and what it was used for then and what we should be using it for now. In reading about the anointing oil in bible days, the oil had sanctifying (cleansing) properties. Whenever the oil was used on a person or thing, that person or thing had then become set apart and blessed of the Lord. The anointing oil was olive oil that had been prayed over and blessed by God. It wasn’t the oil itself, it was what and who the oil represented.
I had received and read a small book on the anointing oil by Pastor Joseph Prince some years ago. He explained the oil and how to take it and pray over it so that plain olive oil would then become blessed and set apart. So, I did just that and I used it to anoint myself and my husband, as well as throughout my house. I have anointed my house and my car to bless it and set it apart to be used by God. I anoint my doors so that no one will be able to walk through if you are not a child of God. I have anointed all the rooms in my house and certain things in my house. I even anoint myself and pray when I have to go out or to the store. I use the anointing oil to walk through my house and cast out any evil spirits or anything that is not from God. Believe me when I tell you, it works. When people visit my house, they always tell me there is something about my house that is so peaceful, you can just feel it. Yes, my house has been set apart for God and His Glory.
Even if you have some unruly children, at night when they are asleep. Take some of your anointing oil and place it on them as you pray over them. A spouse that has strayed away, take some of the oil and anoint your hands. When they are asleep, place your hand on them and their personal things as you pray. When you are not feeling well, anoint yourself while you are praying for healing. This may sound strange to some of you, it is not. This is bible and it works, I know because I haven’t mentioned anything in this blog that I have not done myself. Just remember, it is not the oil itself because it is just olive oil, it is what and who the oil represents after being prayed over.
So, get you a bottle of olive oil and pray over it for God to bless it and sanctify it , to where it becomes set apart for His Glory when being used as an anointing oil. Especially with all of the things that are going on in the world today. Anoint your house, your family, your car and whatever you feel needs to be set apart for God’s Glory. I promise you will fill the difference in your home as well as seeing the difference in your family. God Bless 🙂
