Good Wednesday Morning Blog Family. I pray everything is going well this morning and you are having a beautiful day in the Lord. Praise God.
I wanted to talk a little bit about a problem that has been around forever and seems to be still growing and that is anxiety. I can speak on this because I started having health issues and I am not and never have been a sickly person. I started to be in and out of the emergency room and the hospital, having tests ran just to find out there was nothing physically wrong with me. No heart issues, no strokes, no organ damage of any kind, nothing. Until one day I was asked if I had ever delt with anxiety and stress and I did not know, because I really didn’t know what the symptoms were for anxiety. I knew about stress, but not anxiety.
So, I was advised to find a good therapist and have a good long conversation and they would let me know if I had anxiety. Well, I found a wonderful Christian Therapist and the first conversation we had, she said my anxiety and stress was very bad. So, we went to work uncovering layer after layer of stull I had allowed to build up and not deal with. The anxiety and stress was beginning to affect my mind and my health, making me think and feel like things were happening like heart attack symptoms, stroke symptoms, panic attacks, breathing issues and on and on. So, I can tell you first had that anxiety and stress is very real and very serious.
So, Monday I was doing so reading and studying in my study Bible from Dr. Charles Stanley and I came across a life lesson that he was teaching. In this very powerful lesson he said this, “No one, outside of God, is equipped to handle our problems. He never meant for us to be strong on our own. He wants us to find courage, hope and strength in Him and His Word. Many wonder what they can do to change the feelings of anxiety they feel when they come under pressure. One of the first steps is to recognize anxiety for what it is–opposite of peace. It is the fan that flames the fires of doubt and confusion and it has the ability to leave us helplessly bundled up in worry and fear. When we give into thoughts of anxiety, we lose our spiritual focus and mindset. The key to overcoming anxiety is found only in the presence of God..” Wow, when I read that I said, that is exactly true and I had to find it out the hard way, but that is ok. At least I know and am able to share it with others.
Philippians 4:6-7 reads, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” So, even though I have an awesome therapist and she is a Christian and she incorporates the Bible and Gods Word into our sessions, God is still the answer. She just helps me to stay on track with what God has already said in His Word. Learn to trust God in all that we do and all that we are faced with, that is what He has instructed us to do. God Bless 🙂
