Be Still And Know That He Is God

Good Monday Morning Blog Family. Today is the start of a brand new week, full of the goodness of God and all of His grace and mercy. Don’t you just get excited when You think about how good He is to us and how much He loves us, I know I get very excited. Thank You Jesus.

So, I was reading my devotions and doing some reading and studying Friday morning after posting Friday’s Prayer. I was reading about being in the presence of God, being still and listening to what He had to say. Go instructs us in Psalm 46:10 to “Be still, and know that I am God.” There is so much more to this scripture than just being still and knowing that He is God. When in the presence of God and being still and knowing who He is and listening to what He has to say. There are a lot more blessings that we receive from being in His presence, such as peace, joy, security and protection. Lets take a look at what the Bible says about each of these blessings.

PEACE

John 14:27 reads, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.”

2nd Corinthians 13:11 reads, “Finally, brothers and sisters, rejoice! Strive for full restoration, encourage one another, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you.”

Philippians 4:6-7 reads, “(6) Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. (7) And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hears and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

JOY

Romans 15:13 reads, “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”

Nehemiah 8:10 reads, “Nehemiah said, “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.”

Romans 14:17 reads, “For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.”

SECURITY

Isaiah 54:17 reads, “No weapon that is formed against you will prosper; Ad every tongue that accuses you in judgement will condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And their vindication is from Me, “declares the Lord.”

Proverbs 3:26 reads, “For the LORD is your security. He will keep your foot from being caught in a trap.”

Philippians 1:6 reads, “For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.”

PROTECTION

Psalm 91 reads, “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High
Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress;
My God, in Him I will trust.”

Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the[a]fowler
And from the perilous pestilence.
He shall cover you with His feathers,
And under His wings you shall take refuge;
His truth shall be your shield and [b]buckler.
You shall not be afraid of the terror by night,
Nor of the arrow that flies by day,
Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness,
Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.

A thousand may fall at your side,
And ten thousand at your right hand;
But it shall not come near you.
Only with your eyes shall you look,
And see the reward of the wicked.

Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge,
Even the Most High, your dwelling place,
10 No evil shall befall you,
Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;
11 For He shall give His angels charge over you,
To keep you in all your ways.
12 In their hands they shall [c]bear you up,
Lest you [d]dash your foot against a stone.
13 You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra,
The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.

14 “Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him;
I will [e]set him on high, because he has known My name.
15 He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him;
will be with him in trouble;
I will deliver him and honor him.
16 With [f]long life I will satisfy him,
And show him My salvation.”

So, look at all of the benefits and these are just the ones I listed, there are so many more. Be still and know that He is God and you will be blessed. Just make sure you are doing your part by, believing, trusting and obeying His Word. God Bless 🙂
