Being A Mature Christian

Good Wednesday Morning Blog Family. We are half way through another glorious week. Praise God.

Well, this morning I am happy to say I am back in the country. I have been here since Monday and loving it. Up at 6:00 this morning so I could walk at 6:30 and spend that time with my Father and pray before it got hot. As soon as I started walking and talking to my Father, my friend the Red Bird appeared. My heart was happy to see my friend that came to meet with me this morning like many times before. So, I said, “Good morning my friend,” he sat and watched me for a few minutes before flying away. So, so, so happy.

I would like to share another scripture reading with you this morning from Ephesians 4:1-16. Please see below and read. Think about what you are reading.

Unity and Maturity in the Body of Christ

As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it. This is why it says:

“When he ascended on high,
    he took many captives
and gave gifts to his people.”

(What does “he ascended” mean except that he also descended to the lower, earthly regions? 10 He who descended is the very one who ascended higher than all the heavens, in order to fill the whole universe.) 11 So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, 12 to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

14 Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming. 15 Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. 16 From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.

Now, the scripture reading this morning goes along with the scripture reading from Tuesday’s Blog. It’s still telling us, teaching us and instructing us how we are to live as Christians, Children of God. I believe we have to read and study the Book of Ephesians to get this right. Because the Book of Ephesians cover so many parts of our everyday life, marriage, children, life style, our walk and talk, etc. So, this is a very important Book and should be a guide for us to travel this journey successfully. God Bless 🙂

Prayer

Father God, we come to You in the Mighty Name of Jesus as humble as we know how. Thanking You for loving us as much as You do. In respect and honor of You, help us to have the heart to want to completely surrender our lives to You. Reading and studying the Book of Ephesians and following all instructions in a way that would make You proud of us, Your Children. We love You and thank You for all that You do. Amen
