Good Monday Morning Blog Family. I pray all of you and your families had a very joyous, safe and blessed weekend. Ready to start a new week in the Lord, allowing Him to lead and guide you into what He has in store for you. Praise the name of Jesus.
This morning I had a little bit of a late start with my blog post. So, I decided to reach back to the beginning of when all of this began and re-post one of my older blogs from 2019. I also added a little bit to it for a refresh. Sometimes I will go back and read some of my older blogs and I am amazed. In reading them, I know that God has His hand on me and I always had the help of the Holy Spirit in writing my blogs. As I said before, they are not just for all of you, they are for me as well. When the Holy Spirit gives me what I am to write, a lot of times it is something I needed or an answer to a prayer. So, enjoy this oldie but goodie.
When reading and studying my Bible, I use the N I V or the N K J V Bibles. Sometimes I will read a scripture in the Message Bible and that is what I did with this scripture. Proverbs 11:25 reads, “The one who blesses others is abundantly blessed; those who help others are helped.” I love the way the Message Bible words this scripture, plain and simple to understand.
So, lets talk about being blessed to be a blessing. I hear a lot of people talk about how blessed they are. Sometimes in speaking and asking someone how they are doing, they reply “blessed.” If we are as blessed as we say, are we being a blessing to others? God does not bless us to be selfish, He blesses us with more than we need in order to bless others. I find that in being a blessing to others gives you that warm feeling inside that you can’t get anywhere else. I believe that when we allow ourselves to be a true blessing to others, God gives us a big hug and that is where that warm feeling down deep inside comes from. Now, I have never read that anywhere, that is just how I feel. That God gives me a big Fatherly hug for sharing my blessings with others.
Being a blessing to someone else does not always mean blessing them with money. I have listed a few ways below of how you can be a blessing:
- Spending time with someone who is alone and has no one is being a blessing.
- Buying a few extra groceries to give to the family with more children than food is being a blessing.
- Offering someone a ride to church, work, school or wherever they may need to go is being a blessing.
- Visiting the sick and shut in’s that can’t get out is being a blessing.
- Taking care of the elderly neighbors yard is being a blessing.
- Sharing your dinner with the single parent in the neighborhood is being a blessing.
- Being there for a friend going through something, letting them know that you care is being a blessing.
Those are just a few examples of how you can be a blessing to someone. You may not be in any of those situations and that is truly a blessing, but there are many who are. This is when you can step in and be a blessing as God continues to bless you. Remember, what you make happen for others God will make happen for you. God Bless 🙂
