Good Thursday Afternoon Blog Family. I pray your day is everything that you want it to be, full of God’s grace and mercy. Praise God.
This morning I was reading Psalm 1: 1-6 and I actually stopped and thought about what it was saying to the children of God. I like how these scriptures read in the New Living Translation Bible, so that is what I posted. There is no way you can not understand what the Word is saying. It definitely makes me not want to be a wicked person. I will do everything I can to stay out of that category of people.
As the Word says, as children of God we are not even supposed to hang around wicked people or even be in there presence, and surely not take any advice from them. I believe as Christians we are to pray for wicked people and turn them over to God. Because He is the only One that can give them what they need to change in Him. We can’t fix them or change them so you shouldn’t even try. We are not God and we should not try and do what only God can do. Step back and allow God to do His job in the wicked person’s life.
I have posted Psalm 1:1-6 below. These 6 scriptures say a lot and we should be obedient to them.
1 Oh, the joys of those who do not
follow the advice of the wicked,
or stand around with sinners,
or join in with mockers.
2 But they delight in the law of the Lord,
meditating on it day and night.
3 They are like trees planted along the riverbank,
bearing fruit each season.
Their leaves never wither,
and they prosper in all they do.
4 But not the wicked!
They are like worthless chaff, scattered by the wind.
5 They will be condemned at the time of judgment.
Sinners will have no place among the godly.
6 For the Lord watches over the path of the godly,
Wow, that speaks so much to me. Pay close attention to how the Word describes the wicked and what happens to them. That is not what I want to hear at judgment. I want to hear “Well done my good and faithful servant.” That is my goal at the end of this journey is to hear Him say that to me. So, I am going to focus more on the first 3 scriptures and enjoy this journey. Just pray for the wicked in verses 4 and 5. God Bless 🙂
Prayer
Father God, we come to You in the Mighty Name of Jesus, Your Son and our Lord and Savior. Father, help us to be like the people You are describing in Psalm 1:1-3 in Your Word. Help us not to be like the people You describe in verses 4 and 5. Help us to live our lives everyday in a way that makes You proud. We thank You and we love You. Amen, Amen and Amen.
