Don’t Be Deceived By What You See

Good Monday Morning Blog Family. How’s everyone doing this awesome morning that the Lord has made, in which we will rejoice and be glad in it? Praying you and your loved ones had a safe and blessed weekend, ready for another week full of the goodness and mercy of our Heavenly Father. Praise His Holy Name.

During this last week, I was doing a little traveling with my husband and seeing so many awesome things that reminds me of how good God is. I was talking last week about seeing God in everything in our daily walk with Him. Well, when going through the mountains, crossing over large lakes and rivers, watching the sun set behind the mountains and watching the rain and rain clouds as they move toward you, it is truly breathtaking. These are some of the things I had the opportunity to see God in, and it was truly amazing. I have seen the sun rise and set many times at home, but seeing it as I saw it this past week, all I can say is wow, look at God.

It’s amazing how you see things, especially when you are in a different setting than the norm. We were sitting in a parking lot in Gallup, New Mexico and my husband notices a couple of little prairie dogs standing on the curb across the street. When he showed them to me, I was so excited to see that even though it was just a couple of prairie dogs. This was something that I do not see everyday in my normal setting and they were so cute. As we were leaving I noticed the prairie like area they were in, there were many more of them standing there looking around. I also noticed the one that had tried to cross the busy street and did not make it. I immediately looked at the other ones and told them to please stay in there little area and not try and cross the street. Because they were safe where they were but if they tried to cross the street, there was only death. You have everything you need right where you are, God has already provided for you. Don’t be deceived. I know it sounds crazy that I would say that to them, but that is what came to mind, even though they could not hear me and would not have understood if they could have.

I truly believe God was speaking to me through all of that, because after I said what I said to the little prairie dogs. Immediately the thought came to mind about us doing the same things the little prairie dogs were doing. We can be in a safe and secure place in our lives and see something that we think would be so much better. Then here we go crossing over to the other side where things were not as great as we thought they would be. Sometimes we make it to the other side and sometimes we don’t, depending on what we encounter on the way. God has provided all that we need right where we are, don’t be deceived. That’s the same exact thing that happened to Eve in the Bible, thinking if she ate the apple that Satan deceived her about. She would be like God and be able to know and see things like God. She and Adam had it made, but she let Satan deceive her into thinking things would be much better if she ate the apple. Genesis 3:1-7 reads:

Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?”

And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.’ ”

Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was [a]pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate. Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves [b]coverings.

So, please don’t allow Satan to deceive you into doing things that you know God told you not to do, not to go or not to say. Stay where God has planted you and grow in His love, walk in His love and obedience. Receiving His grace and mercy new every morning and filled with His joy and peace. Always seek God in everything and about all decisions and choices. Things are not always greener on the other side of the fence, there’s usually a snake lurking around somewhere. God Bless 🙂
