Don’t Let The Devil Or People Steal Your Joy

Good Tuesday Morning Blog Family. I pray everyone having a safe and blessed week in the Lord. Praise God.

So, one morning I remember talking to my husband and he seemed to have been a little grumpy, not his usual happy self. Now, I could have let this put me in one of those moods that probably would have ruined the rest of my morning and our conversation. I first asked him if he was ok because he sounded a little grumpy and then I made the decision to get off the phone and talk with him a little bit later in the day. Why? Because I was not going to let the devil steal my joy by using my husband’s grumpiness in our conversation. I just told him I would talk to him later when he was in a better mood and that was it. I hung the phone up still as happy and joyful as I was when I first called him. Although I did pray for him.

Now, that could have turned out very ugly because it has in the past and I did not like that at all. I had to realize who was at the root of all of this and put a stop to it, in the Name of Jesus. Because the devil does not play fair and he will use whoever he can and whoever will allow him to use them. I also have to realize that my husband is not the happiest person when he first wakes up in the morning. I usually have to give him a little time and he’s ok. So, the devil will jump in there and use that to try and get to me, but it doesn’t work anymore. Now, it used to work and then we would both be in a grumpy mood some mornings, but it doesn’t work anymore. Praise God.

As always, I was doing a little research on what the Bible had to say about the devil or people stealing your joy and I came across this very good read in the thewind.radio. They were right on point with what they said.

“What does it mean to steal your joy?

When we let others take away our joy, we are essentially giving them power over us. And we don’t want that. We want to be in control of our lives and our happiness. We don’t want anyone else dictating how we should feel. This is why it’s so important to protect our joy and not let anyone take it away from us.”

I thought that was a very good, because we do allow people and the devil working through people to steal our joy and sometimes we don’t even realize it. This is another reason to always read your Bible every day and stay in the Word and get before God everyday and spend that much needed quality time with Him. Because you can stay equip to watch out for things like this and know how to handle it God’s way, the correct way. John 10:10 reads, “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” So, here, Jesus is telling you the devil doesn’t come to do anything good, only to steal, kill and destroy and this includes your joy.

So, dear hearts, please stay in the peace of God. Philippians 4:6-7 reads, “do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Be blessed and have an awesome day in the Lord. God Bless 🙂

Prayer

Heavenly Father, we come to You in the Mighty Name of Jesus as Your children, believing and trusting in You. Giving You all of the praise and glory that already belongs to You. Thank You so much for You, Jesus and the Holy Spirit and all that has been done, all that’s being done now and all that we know will be done. You are such an amazing and good Father and we love You so much. Thank You for equipping us to be able to handle what may be thrown at us that is not from You. In Jesus Name. Amen
