Do you remember when you first gave your life to Christ? How excited you were. You wanted to tell everybody and get everybody saved. I remember when I gave my life to Christ. It was so amazing and all I talked about was the Bible. Reading my Bible everyday and on fire for God. Having a lot of conversations with my Mom about what I was reading. I was so excited.
This is what most of us experience when we first become Christians. We are so on fire and all we want to do is be a witness for Christ. Telling everybody that will listen to us about Jesus and how He saved us. Inviting people to church and to Bible study every week. Out all day on Saturday passing out Bible tracks and free Bibles. Wearing our Jesus shirts and pins. Being a witness and leading people to Christ.
Now, a lot of years have passed and that fire seems to have become warm instead of hot. What happened to being that witness for Christ? Telling people about the love of Jesus and how He can change their life forever. Talking about what Jesus did for us on the cross. Did Jesus change? No, but we did.
We need to fan that fire and get it hot and blazing again. Jesus is still saving and changing lives and we need to still be a witness for Christ. Hebrews 13:8 reads “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” If we were on fire for God yesterday, then we should still be on fire today and forever. We should be talking the talk and walking the walk and letting people see Jesus in us. Your witnessing should not always be what people hear but what they see as well. God Bless 🙂
