Has Your Fire Gone Out For God?

Good Thursday Morning Blog Family. Today we have been given another opportunity to be a part of this blessed day, full of God’s grace and mercy. Thank You Father for loving us as much as You do. Praise God.

Do you remember when you first gave your life to Christ? How excited you were. You wanted to tell everybody and get everybody saved. I remember when I gave my life to Christ. It was so amazing and all I talked about was the Bible. Reading my Bible everyday and on fire for God. Having a lot of conversations with my Mom about what I was reading. I was so excited about my new life in Christ, reading my Bible and sharing what I was reading was so fulfilling and exciting. My new found love was better than any other love I had ever felt and I liked the way it made me feel. It was real and genuine, it was Jesus.

This is what most of us experience when we first become Christians. We are so on fire and all we want to do is be a witness for Christ. Telling everybody that will listen to us about Jesus and how He saved us. Inviting people to church and to Bible study every week. Out all day on Saturday passing out Bible tracks and free Bibles. Wearing our Jesus shirts and pins. Being a witness and leading people to Christ.

Now, a lot of years have passed and that fire seems to have become warm instead of hot. What happened to being that witness for Christ? Telling people about the love of Jesus and how He can change their life forever. Talking about what Jesus did for us on the cross. Did Jesus change? No, Jesus doesn’t change but we change. Malachi 3:6 reads, “For I am the Lord, I do not change; and Hebrews 13:8 reads, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever.” So, we see in the scriptures, that it is not Jesus that is changing, it is us.

We need to fan that fire and get it hot and blazing again. Jesus is still saving and changing lives and we need to still be a witness for Him. If we were on fire for God yesterday, then we should still be on fire today and forever. We should be talking the talk and walking the walk and letting people see Jesus in us. Your witnessing should not always be what people hear but what they see as well. God Bless 🙂

Prayer

Father God, we come to You in the Mighty Name of Jesus, Your Son and our Lord and Savior. Giving You all of the honor, praise and glory that belongs to You. Thank You for being the best Father ever and for loving us so much. Thank You so much for giving us Your Son Jesus, our Lord and Savior. Thank You for giving us Your precious Holy Spirit to teach and comfort us. Help us to live a life that will allow others to see You, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
