Good Wednesday Morning Blog Family. Praying you are having an awesome morning, even though it has been raining where I am. I pray all is going well with you and your family today and for the rest of the week. Praise God.
I am sure all of us have at one time or another had an appointment where you had to be some where at a certain time, get there on time and still had to wait. Now I don’t know about you, but any time I have ever gone to the doctor’s office for a scheduled appointment, usually arriving a little early. I still have to sit in the waiting room and wait for a little while. Then when the nurse comes to the front and calls your name, you are moved to another room to see the doctor and you will have to wait again. So, it doesn’t matter what you do or where you go, waiting is just part of our everyday life.
There are other times in our lives that we have to wait and that is in our Christian life, waiting on God to answer a prayer that we have prayed. Now, sometimes that can be a few days wait, a week wait, a month wait and even a year’s wait. But we also have to remember that God’s timing is not our timing. 2 Peter 3:8-9 puts it this way, “But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness.” What may seem like forever for us while waiting on God, may only be a few seconds for Him. Although, we may have to wait on God, waiting on Him comes with benefits. Isaiah 40:31 reads, “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” So, waiting on the Lord is a good thing, just make sure you don’t get ahead of Him.
You know how we can be sometimes when we have prayed to God for something, we expect it to happen right then. No matter what we are praying about or praying for, it is totally up to God when and if He brings it to pass. Why, because He knows what is best for us and He knows what we need and when we need it. He also knows what we don’t need, even when we think we do. God is all knowing and all seeing and He knows us better than we know ourselves and He takes very good care of us. You just have to believe what He says in His Word and trust Him to do what He says He will do, in His timing and not ours.
So, the next time you find yourself having to wait on God for anything, just remember what is happening to you while you wait. You are being renewed and strengthened in the Lord and I would say that is a very good thing. God is never late, He is always right on time. Always expect God to answer your prayers, whether it is the way you thought it would be answered or not. Just don’t get ahead of Him and try to do His job, just patiently wait on Him, it is worth the wait every time. God Bless 🙂
