Making New Christmas Memories And Traditions

December 15, 2025

Good Monday Afternoon Blog Family, I pray all of you have been doing well and blessed. It has been a little while since my last post, but here I am ready to start again. I have been dealing with some things in my life that took up a lot of my time, but I am glad to say things are a lot more calm now. Thank You Jesus, because He is the One that brought me through.

Well, it’s time to start another week and a very busy week for a lot of us. This week being the last week before Christmas comes with a lot of extras. Last minute shopping for that special gift, searching for that sold out toy, buying groceries for Christmas dinner, making travel arrangements, and the list could go on and on.

Whatever your Christmas traditions are, make plenty of happy memories.. Because those happy memories can be shared for years to come. Taking lots of pictures of the kids in all of their excitement. Watching the little ones setting out that plate of cookies and glass of milk for Santa. Remembering the fun in the kitchen cooking and baking with family. Staying up late to set up the perfect scene around the Christmas tree for those early risers. Everyone seated at the table eating Christmas dinner and enjoying laughter and good conversations. If you and your family have no Christmas traditions, then it’s time to start making some. You will be so glad you did, especially when your children are all grown up and passing that tradition down to their children. Think of all of the stories and memories being shared.

This is my 7th Christmas without my Mom, and I still have my sad moments. But thank God I have many happy memories and traditions of all the Christmas’s we did share. During this week, she and I would have already made out our Christmas dinner grocery list and completed our shopping. So now we would make out our cooking schedule to cook certain things on certain days and finishing up Christmas morning. We found doing it this way would allow us to enjoy our Christmas with family and not be in the kitchen all day. It worked out great every time. This year as I was going through the process without her, it was a little tearful. Because this is something we did together, but the memories I have of that time made me smile. That is a tradition we made together that I will always have of her in my heart.

This year I decided to do something different for the Holiday season, Thanksgiving and Christmas. I am spending the Holiday season with my Sister and Brother and their families in San Antonio and it has been such a blessing for us all. I have never been away from home during the Holidays, especially at Christmas, but if it will be anything like Thanksgiving, it will be amazing as well. These are new memories that are being made and will forever be in my heart. It’s good I have a big heart, because I have a lot of memories stored in there.

This is why it is so important to make and keep happy memories and not just at Christmas, but everyday. Because we don’t ever know when that loved one will be gone. They may be gone but the love for them and the memories we have of them are always in our hearts. So, make the time shared with your children, parents, loved ones and friends a special memory, everyday. God Bless 🙂

Prayer

Father God, we come to You in the Mighty Name of Jesus, Your Son and our Lord and Savior. Giving You all of the praise, all of the glory and all of the honor that belongs to You. Thanking You, Jesus and Holy Spirit for all that You have done, all that You are doing and all that we know You will do in the lives of Your children. Thank You for the precious gift of your Son Jesus, the greatest gift ever given. Help us all to remember the reason for the season this time of year and for the whole entire you as well. Thanking Jesus, the best gift we could ever receive, for all that He did for us and still doing. Amen
