Obeying Jesus Is Loving Jesus

Good Monday Morning Blog Family. This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it Psalm 118:24. So, let’s be obedient this morning in the name of the Lord and go out and rejoice and be glad over this beautiful day that He has made for us. Praise God.

While reading my devotions, one of them was talking about John 14:21 which read, “He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.” What a powerful scripture and I had to sit and think about what He said after reading it a few times. John 14:21 is not a long scripture, but it says a lot.

I am sure we have all read that scripture before and maybe you thought about what it said and maybe you just read it. This is the reason why it is so important to not just read scripture, you need to read and meditate on what you read. Take a minute and think about what you read and make sure you know exactly what it means. We need to be able to take scripture and apply it to our lives and be obedient to the Word of God. That is exactly what we are supposed to do as a Christian, a child of God.

So, when I read John 14:21, that is exactly what I did, I sat and read it a few times and then I thought about what I had read. Asking myself am I doing what I was instructed to do in this scripture, am I being obedient. This scripture is telling us if we are obedient to what Jesus tells us to do, our obedience is telling Him that we love Him. Then Jesus tells us if we love Him then we will be loved by His Father, which is our Heavenly Father. Then Jesus tells us He will manifest Himself to us and love us. Wow, this is an amazing scripture.

I think this is a great scripture for Christmas as well, since I am blogging about Christmas this month. I say that because, when God gave us His Son, it was because He loved us so much. Then Jesus gave His life for us because He loves us so much. This is all He asking of us, to give our lives to Him, accept the Salvation He died to give us, be obedient and to love Him. I look at it this way, if you obey Him you are showing Jesus that you love Him. If you don’t obey Him you are showing Him that you don’t love Him, just that simple. Your actions will show Him, you either love Him or you don’t. He is our perfect gift and we should obey Him and love Him as such. God Bless 🙂

Prayer

Father God, we come to You in the Mighty Name of Jesus, Your Son and our Lord and Savior. Giving You all of the praise, honor and glory that belongs to You. Thanking You for the perfect gift that You gave us in Jesus Christ. Help us to be obedient to what Jesus instructs us to do to show Him just how much we love Him and in return being loved by You and Him. Amen
