Good Friday Morning Blog Family. I pray you had a safe and blessed week and ready for a restful weekend with family and loved ones. Just make sure you keep God in the midst of whatever your weekend plans are. Thank You Jesus.
Now, I know that on Friday’s, I always do Friday’s Prayer. This Friday I decided to talk about the importance of our prayers, the most powerful weapon we have. I am sure you have heard people say and even read before, “Prayer Changes Things,” and believe me it sure does. I am not just saying that because of something I have read or heard someone say it. I am a witness that prayer changes things because I have seen it time and time again in my own prayer life. Prayer is a very powerful weapon if you know how to use it. Prayer is a very powerful weapon to every man, woman and child that loves God and has accepted His Son Jesus and your Lord and Savior. Matthew 6:6 reads, “Jesus said, “When you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret will reward you.”
James 5:13-18 reads, “13 Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise. 14 Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If the y have sinned, they will be forgiven. 16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. 17 Elijah was a human being, even as we are. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years. 18 Again he prayed, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced its crops.”
Then we have 1 Thessalonians 5:17 that reads, “pray without ceasing.” Now this doesn’t mean that you have to be on your knees or in your prayer closet 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. This means that you should always have an attitude of prayer. We should always be talking to God through out the day and prayer is what? Talking to God. Matthew 21:22 reads, “And whatever you ask in prayer. you will receieve, if you believe.” Ephesians 6:18 reads, “Praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. to that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints. Philippians 4:6-7 reads, Do not be anxious about anything but in everything by prayer and supplications with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Those are just a few scriptures to give you an idea how powerful prayer is when used according to God’s Word.
If Jesus prayed, that tells us we should pray as well. Prayer should always be a priority in your life. Don’t let prayer be your last resort, let prayer be your first and only choice. God Bless 🙂
Prayer
Father as we come to You this morning in the mighty name of Jesus. Help us to come to You in prayer first before going to others. Help us to realize what a powerful weapon prayer is when we use it according to Your Word. Thank You Father. Amen
