Sitting At The Feet Of Jesus

Good Thursday Morning Blog Family. Praying everyone’s having a good week so far, too blessed to be stressed. Take Jesus with you this morning wherever you are going, don’t leave home without Him.

I am sure everyone is familiar with the story of the two sisters Mary and Martha. But just in case your mind needs to be refreshed, I will be more than happy to help you out. Luke 10:38-42 reads, “Now it happened as they went that He entered a certain village; and a certain woman named Martha welcomed Him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus’ feet and heard His word. But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me.”

And Jesus answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.” Now, I am sure after reading this you know what two sisters I am talking about.

Can you just imagine being there and being a witness to what took place? Seeing the troublesome and distracted look on Martha’s face when she approached Jesus and seeing the peaceful and loving look on His face when He answered her? A lot of us replay this same scene over and over in our own lives everyday. Getting our priorities all mixed up and turning our focus toward the wrong things. As Jesus told Martha, ” But one thing is needed and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.”

Which part have you chosen? Have you chosen that good part that will not be taken away from you? Have you become so busy and distracted with other things in your life, that you are overlooking the most important thing in your life. STOP! Come and take a seat at the feet of Jesus and get that one thing that is needed that will not be taken away from you. Get refreshed and filled with what Jesus has to say to you. All of that other stuff can wait, it will still be there when you get back to it. After visiting with Jesus for a while, you may realize that other stuff wasn’t as important as you thought. God Bless 🙂
