Good Monday Morning Blog Family. Praying all is well with you and your loved ones, staying safe, blessed and connected to God. Praise God.
One morning I was reading my devotion and I came across something that I had to go and look up in my Bible. Whenever I come across anything pertaining to the Word of God and if they give scripture to back up what they are saying. I am always going to go to the scriptures to read it for myself to make sure it is in the Bible and then share it with you if I feel the need to do so. The person that wrote the devotion was talking about a teaching he had received from an older gentleman. He was teaching on the “one things” in the Bible. So, he had listed the scriptures and I looked them up and listed them below for you to read as well.
Psalm 27:4 reads, “One thing I have desired of the Lord, That will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord All the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, And to inquire in His temple.”
Mark 10:21 reads “Then Jesus, looking at him, loved him and said to him, “One thing you lack: Go your way, sell whatever you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasures in heaven; and come, take up the cross, and follow me.”
Luke 10:42 reads, “But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.”
John 9:25 reads, “He answered and said, “Whether He is a sinner or not I do not know. One thing I know: that though I was blind, now I see.”
Philippians 3:13 reads, “Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead,”
So, in reading the above listed scriptures, can you honestly say you are aware of these “only one things in your daily Christian walk?” Are you the type of Christian that the Bible instructs us to be as far as living right, seeking God in all things, desiring what the Lord desires for you, helping others especially the poor, forgetting what’s in the past and moving forward in Christ and choosing Jesus over everything else? Think about it and make whatever adjustments you need to make to be in the God’s Will for your life.
God had made everything so easy for us to make Jesus our Lord and Savior and to follow Him. We are the ones that make it so hard, by not reading and studying our Bible. The Word of God tells us to study to show ourselves approved. 2 Timothy 2:15 reads, “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” Make the time to get in the Word everyday and spending that much needed time with the Father. He looks forward to spending time with His children. God Bless 🙂
Prayer
Father, we come to You in the Mighty Name of Jesus, Your Son and our Lord and Savior. We thank you for Your Holy Word that You have given us for us to read and study and to show ourselves approved to You. Help us to incorporate those “only one things” into our daily lives and live in a way that makes You proud. Thank You Father and Amen.
