Good Wednesday Morning Dear Hearts. I pray everyone’s having a blessed morning and starting your day with God. Going into the day expecting mighty and wonderful blessings, over flowing with the love of God. Praise the name of Jesus.
Today I would like to talk about “The Joy Of The Lord.” Starting with Nehemiah 8:10 which reads, “Then he said to them,”Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send portions to those for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is Holy to our Lord. Do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” To me, this scripture describes the everyday life of a Christian. Be happy and full of joy from the Lord, sharing what you have with those less fortunate than yourself. Every day should be Holy to God because He makes each day. Psalms 118:24 reads, “This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.”
The joy of the Lord is our strength and I know this to be very true. Not just by reading this scripture, but by seeing it in my own everyday life. Being a Christian does not exempt us from the attacks of the devil or this evil world. The key is the way we choose to go through the storms of life and that determines the way we come out of it. Choosing to be happy no matter what is a choice. Choosing to allow the joy of the Lord to be your strength is a choice. Choosing to trust God no matter what is a choice. Choosing to not let people determine what kind of day we have is a choice. To do right or to do wrong is a choice. Believing the joy of the Lord is our strength is a choice, you either believe it or you don’t. Your choice.
Whenever I am having one of those days that I am missing my husband because he is away at work. Missing my Mom because she has gone home to be with the Lord. Feeling kind of down and alone, wanting to be in the presence of those two people. Sometimes a praise song will come to mind and I will start to hum it and then I will break out and start to sing it. I find in the midst of what I was going through has gone and I am full of that joy. Then I will go a step further and play the song and then it’s on. Talk about having church in your living room. Yes Lord Yes. I get full of that joy and my strength returns to me and I am ready. Praise God.
So, let the Joy of the Lord be your strength and have a blessed day. God Bless π
