Good Tuesday Morning Blog Family. I pray everyone is doing well and seeking God on a daily basis. Thank You Jesus.
I would like to take a few minutes this morning and explain about Monday’s blog that had Wednesday on it. I had a very early travel Monday morning so I went back to 2020 and reposted an oldie but goodie and forgot to change the day from Wednesday to Monday. My Mother-in-Love asked me if I posted a blog for Monday and I told her I did and she said she didn’t see one for Monday. So, I went to check to make sure I posted it and realized what I did. So no, I am not losing it, just was in too big of a hurry, lol.
Now, I can move on to our blog for today which is Tuesday. I was doing my Bible reading Monday evening which was in Colossians 3:1-15. After reading it in my NIV and NKJV, as usual I read it in my NLT and of course I loved the way it read and that’s the version I posted. Still talking about how we should live as Christians as I have been doing in the last few blogs. Why, because we need to understand that it is not ok to just live the way we want and do what we want to do and how we want to do it. NO!!!
We have been given our instruction manual on how we are to live this life that God has blessed us to have. That is what our Bibles are for, read it and be obedient to what it says. There is no reason any Christian should ever say they don’t know what or what not to do. All that tells me is that you don’t understand what you are reading or you are not reading your Bible. There are so many versions of the Bible, not understanding is no excuse. I read and study 3 different versions and the New Living Translation is so very easy to understand. I have posted Colossians 3:1-15 below which is talking about living a new life, because we should have dismissed that old life when we accepted Jesus Christ.
Living the New Life
3 Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand. 2 Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. 3 For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 And when Christ, who is your life, is revealed to the whole world, you will share in all his glory.
5 So put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you. Have nothing to do with sexual immorality, impurity, lust, and evil desires. Don’t be greedy, for a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world. 6 Because of these sins, the anger of God is coming. 7 You used to do these things when your life was still part of this world. 8 But now is the time to get rid of anger, rage, malicious behavior, slander, and dirty language. 9 Don’t lie to each other, for you have stripped off your old sinful nature and all its wicked deeds. 10 Put on your new nature, and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like him. 11 In this new life, it doesn’t matter if you are a Jew or a Gentile, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbaric, uncivilized, slave, or free. Christ is all that matters, and he lives in all of us.
12 Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. 13 Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. 14 Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. 15 And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.
Praise the Name of Jesus, that was such a good read. If this is not how you are living or trying to live, you need to stop and check yourself. Just take a little time to do a quick self check and evaluate how you are living on a daily basis. Think about what you do, where you go, what comes out of your mouth, how you treat people and on and on, from the time you rise until you lay down. If Colossians 3:1-15 is not your life, then you need to make some changes. God Bless 🙂
Prayer
Father God we come to You in the Mighty Name of Jesus, Your Son and our Lord and Savior. Giving You all of the praise and glory that belongs to You. Father, You are so good to us and You so lovingly provide for us everyday. Help us to show You how grateful we are by leading and guiding us in obedience to You. Forgive us if we have not been living the life that is described in Colossians 3:1-15. Thank You Father and we love You. Amen
