Good Wednesday Morning Blog Family. Praying all of you and your family and loved ones started your day with God this morning. Getting before Him and finding out what He has planned out for you and your blessed day in Him. Praise God.
This morning I would like to talk about 3 very important things that should be a part of a Christians life and that is trust (in God), faith (in God), and prayer (to God). Trusting and having faith in God through prayer is one of the most powerful and intimate ways to grow your relationship with God. Prayer is not just about asking for things, it’s about aligning your heart with God’s will, building trust in His timing and finding peace in His presence.
Trusting God means believing that He hears you, He loves you and He is working things out for your good, even when you can’t see it. Proverbs 3;5-6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths.” Through prayer, we surrender our worries, desires and fears, choosing to trust that God knows what is best.
Faith is what gives our prayers power. It’s believing God can do what He says, even before it happens. Hebrews 11:1 says, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” When you pray with faith, you are not just speaking words, you are declaring trust in God’s ability and willingness to act. Hebrews 11:6 says, “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.”
So, now that we have talked about what trust, faith and prayer is, I have a question for you this morning. Do you live a prayer filled life, trusting and having faith in our God? I’m not talking about that quick prayer on the way to work or that sleepy prayer before bedtime, in which those are good. No, I mean the kind of prayer where you actually stop for a minute and acknowledge God before you start to pray. When you take the time to go before Hm in the Mighty Name of Jesus, making your requests known to Him. Philippians 4:6 says, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.”
There is nothing that goes on in our lives that we cannot talk to God about. Sometimes, I have gone before Him and just sat there in His presence, not really knowing what to say. But that’s ok too, because He knows my heart and He knows my every thought. Philippians 4:7 says, “and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Sitting in His presence quietly also gives Him a chance to speak to me and I just listen.
Learn to pray about everything, not just the big things but the little things too. Let prayer become a way of life, always talking to God about whatever is on your heart. Because if it concerns you, it concerns God. Pray for other people and their needs, don’t get in the habit of just praying selfish prayers, intercede for others. Living a life of prayer is not has hard as you may think it is. Living a prayer filed life is just living a life where you talk to God all day every day. Include Him in your choices, your decisions and you daily conversations. I have realized in my own prayer filled life, that I find talking to my God all day comes as natural as breathing. I don’t have to think about breathing, I just breathe. That’s what a prayer filled life should be like, not thinking about talking to God, but just talking to Him. We are to talk to God and trust Him no matter what.
Psalm 91:2 says, “I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.” I trust God to do what He says in His Word. I do all that I can do, then I trust God to do what I can’t do. I believe what God says in His Word. I know if He said it, He will bring it to pass in my life, if I believe and trust Him and have faith in Him. We have to trust Him with things we don’t know and with things we don’t understand. No matter what, just trust God. God Bless 🙂
