Good Monday Morning Blog Family. We are at the beginning of another glorious week and I pray everyone is doing well. Keeping your eyes on Jesus and not all that is going on around you. Praise God.
This morning I want to talk to you about the anointing oil in the Bible and what it was used for then and what we should be using it for now. In reading about the anointing oil in Bible days, the oil had sanctifying (cleansing) properties. Whenever the oil was used on a person or thing, that person or thing had then become set apart and blessed of the Lord. The anointing oil was olive oil that had been prayed over and blessed by God. It wasn’t the oil itself, it was what and who the oil represented.
I had received and read a small book on the anointing oil by Pastor Joseph Prince some years ago. He explained the oil and how to take it and pray over it so that plain olive oil would then become blessed and set apart. So, I did just that and I used it to anoint myself and my husband, as well as throughout my house. I have anointed my house and my car to bless it and set it apart to be used by God. I anoint my doors so that no one or no thing will be able to walk through if you are not a child of God. I have anointed all the rooms in my house and certain things in my house. I even anoint myself and pray when I have to go out or to the store. I use the anointing oil to walk through my house and cast out any evil spirits or anything that is not from God. Believe me when I tell you, it works. When people visit my house, they always tell me there is something about my house that is so peaceful, you can just feel it. Yes, my house has been set apart for God and His Glory.
Even if you have some unruly children, at night when they are asleep. Take some of your anointing oil and place it on them as you pray over them. A spouse that has strayed away, take some of the oil and anoint your hands. When they are asleep, place your hand on them and their personal things as you pray. When you are not feeling well, anoint yourself while you are praying for healing. This may sound strange to some of you, it is not. This is Bible and it works, I know because I haven’t mentioned anything in this blog that I have not done myself. Just remember, it is not the oil itself because it is just olive oil, it is what and who the oil represents after being prayed over.
I have posted a copy of the prayer by Joseph Prince to pray over your oil. You can use own prayer, I just added this one to get you started and give you an idea of what and how to pray if you did not know.
“Father, in the name of Jesus, we lift up this oil before You, Lord, and in and of itself it is just oil. But we ask You in the name of Jesus, Father, anoint this oil. Anoint this oil that we are holding in our hands, Father, and make it Lord, the holy anointing oil consecrated for your purposes, Father, destined to bring glory to the name of Jesus Christ.
Father, we ask in Jesus’ name, wherever this oil is applied, Father, we ask that sickness will turn into wholeness, health and life. Even the dead will be raised, Father. In the name of Jesus, we ask Lord, wherever this oil is applied, failure will turn to success, barrenness will turn into fruitfulness. Lord, we pray that wherever it is applied, we pray that in the name of Jesus, in the darkness there will be light come forth and it will spring forth speedily, Lord. Wherever it is applied, Father, in the name of Jesus we thank You, there’s protection, there’s provision, and there’s restoration.
In the name of Jesus, and Father, glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, not the oil, but glorify the Lord Jesus Christ wherever it is applied, Father. In the name of Jesus we ask, and all the people say, Amen.”
So, get you a bottle of olive oil and pray over it for God to bless it and sanctify it , to where it becomes set apart for His Glory when being used as an anointing oil. Especially with all of the things that are going on in the world today. Anoint your house, your family, your car and whatever you feel needs to be set apart for God’s Glory. I promise you will fill the difference in your home as well as seeing the difference in your family. God Bless 🙂
Prayer
Father God, we come to You in the Mighty Name of Jesus as humble we know how. Giving You all of the praise and all of the glory that you belongs to You. Thank You Lord for Your Anointing Oil for us to use and set ourselves apart for You. We know that it is not the oil itself, but what and who the oil represents, which is You. Thank You and we love You so much. Amen.
