What Are You Thankful For?

Good Monday Morning Blog Family. I am praying that you are having an awesome day in the Lord and being obedient to His Word. Praise the Name of Jesus.

Well, this is the beginning of Thanksgiving week and probably a very busy week for most of us. This is the time that we do the extra grocery shopping, the extra cooking and have extra family for Thanksgiving dinner. It should be a time of fun, laughter and spending time with loves ones, but more than anything it should be a time of thankfulness and gratefulness. We should be this way the entire year and not just for Thanksgiving.

You may be one of those people that feel they don’t have a lot or anything to be thankful for, but you are so wrong. You may not have everything that you want, but I promise you still have a lot to be thankful for. Allow me to list a few of those things we should be thankful and grateful for every day.

  1. If you are living in a house or apartment and not on the street, you should be thankful.
  2. If you have food to eat every day and not going hungry, you should be thankful.
  3. If you are walking around in your right mind without help, you should be thankful.
  4. If you get up every morning and dress yourself without help, you should be thankful.
  5. If you sit down to eat and can feed yourself without help, you should be thankful.
  6. If you lie down in a bed at night for a good night sleep, you should be thankful.
  7. If you have family, loved ones and friends to spend time with, you should be thankful.
  8. If you have a job or a source of income, you should be thankful.
  9. If you are a child of God and have God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit in your life, you should be thankful.
  10. If you are on your way to Heaven when you leave this world, you should be thankful.

I just took a few minutes to list a few things that we all should be thankful for, just to name a few. We don’t have to wait until we have all of the big things in life that we feel we need to be thankful. Sometimes its just those little simple things in life we take for granted that we should be thankful for. Just waking up every morning should be a Thank You Father, because He allowed us to open our eyes and see another day. We are so blessed and sometimes don’t even realized it, because we are looking at the big picture instead of the little one.

So, take a minute and think about your every day life, from the time you wake up until the time you go to sleep at night. I am so sure that you will realize you have more to be thankful and grateful for than you realize. I know I do.

1 Chronicles 16:34 reads, “Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.”

Colossians 3:15 reads, “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.”

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 reads, “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

Philippians 4:6-7 reads, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Psalm 28:7 reads, “The Lord is my strength and my shield; in Him my heart trust, and I am helped; my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to Him.”

I wanted to end this blog with just a few scriptures about being thankful and grateful for the many blessings that our Father showers us with daily. There are so many more scriptures listed in the Bible about how thankful we should be and the many reasons we should be thankful. So, if you feel you don’t have a reason to be thankful, go to the Word of God and then take a look at your every day life. You will see, you have so much to be thankful for. God Bless 🙂

Prayer

Father God, we come to You in the Mighty Name of Jesus, Your Son and our Lord and Savior. Giving You all of the praise, honor and glory that belong to You. Thanking You, Jesus and the Holy Spirit for all You have done, all You are doing and all You will do in the lives of Your children. We have so much to be thankful for. Help us to live our lives in a way that says Thank You and in a way that pleases You. We are so thankful for all of the many blessings we receive from You every day. You are such a good, good Father and we love You so much. Thank You for loving us so much. Amen
