Good Wednesday Afternoon Blog Family. I pray everyone is safe and blessed this beautiful afternoon. I apologize for my blog post being so late today. I had an 8:00 appointment out of town this morning and had to get up and leave very early. So, I am just returning home and sitting down to post my blog. Thank You Jesus.
We all have our own perspectives of what we think love is or should be. There is only one love and it is more than butterflies in the stomach and hearts skipping beats. It is the love of God and He describes this kind of love to you in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7, and it reads “(4) Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. (5) It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrong. (6) Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. (7) It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.”
So, as you can see in the scriptures above, love is so much more than just feelings or emotions you have for someone or someone has for you. If you were to sit down and make a list of what you think love is or should be, would it look like the list above? If the answer is no, you have some rethinking to do.
So, the next time you are ready to say those three little words (I Love You) to someone. Stop and think about what you are actually saying to them and ask yourself, will you be able to love them the way God instructs you to?
This is one of the many benefits of spending time with God in His Word. You will be instructed on how to do things the correct way, which is God’s way. I believe loving someone the way God instructs us to, makes for a heaven on earth relationship. God Bless. 🙂
