What Or Who Is Your Delilah?

Good Monday Morning Blog Family. This is another beautiful day the Lord has made, so let us rejoice and be glad in it. Thanking Him for another opportunity to come before Him with our praise and thanksgiving. Praise His Holy Name.

Well, I don’t know how the weather is this morning where you are, but let me share with you what kind of weather I woke up to. We are in McCarran, NV and it is 53 degrees, nice cool breeze blowing, bright sunshine, beautiful blue sky with a few white clouds, birds chirping and surrounded by mountains and a few trees. When I tell you this is a beautiful morning, you better believe it. I made my cup of coffee and the windows in the truck are down and my morning was set. My husband was inside the building getting checked in to deliver and God and I were in the truck enjoying the beautiful morning He blessed me to have. The best thing about this awesome morning was having my coffee and talking with my Father. It was priceless.

Now, let me move on with my blog post this morning. I would first like to share a Bible reading with you so that you will understand the question that I am going to ask you. The Bible reading comes from Judges 16:15-20.

Then she said to him, “How can you say, ‘I love you,’ when you won’t confide in me? This is the third time you have made a fool of me and haven’t told me the secret of your great strength.” 16 With such nagging she prodded him day after day until he was sick to death of it.

17 So he told her everything. “No razor has ever been used on my head,” he said, “because I have been a Nazirite dedicated to God from my mother’s womb. If my head were shaved, my strength would leave me, and I would become as weak as any other man.”

18 When Delilah saw that he had told her everything, she sent word to the rulers of the Philistines, “Come back once more; he has told me everything.” So the rulers of the Philistines returned with the silver in their hands. 19 After putting him to sleep on her lap, she called for someone to shave off the seven braids of his hair, and so began to subdue him. And his strength left him.

20 Then she called, “Samson, the Philistines are upon you!”

He awoke from his sleep and thought, “I’ll go out as before and shake myself free.” But he did not know that the Lord had left him.

So, now that you have read Judges 16:15-20, you will understand my question. What or who is your Delilah? What is in your life that separates you from God, that tears you away from God? Making decisions that you know takes you out of God’s will for your life. Being connected to toxic people filled with poison they inject into you and you following their ways and walking away from God. A Delilah is anything or anybody that you have allowed in your life that have taken the place of God.

Sansom knew God and he knew all of his strength came from God. As soon as he let Delilah completely in, God left him and so did his strength. It works the same way with us today. We know God and we are His children, we know all we are and have is from God. As soon as we let that Delilah into our lives completely, things begin to change and not for the better. Why? Because you have replaced God with your Delilah

So, children of God. Please don’t make the same mistake Samson made and give in to something or somebody so much that you become separated from God. Keep God in your life. God Bless 🙂

Prayer

Heavenly Father, we come to You this morning in the Mighty Name of Jesus, Your Son and our Lord and Savior. Asking You to please let us recognize the Delilah’s when they come around and to get rid of them. We want nothing to do with Delilah. Thank You and Amen.
