Where Are You, Asked God?

Good Thursday Morning Blog Family. I pray everyone’s having a safe and blessed week in the Lord. Praise God.

So, today I am going to talk a little bit about Genesis 3:1-15. So, please follow along with me in reading the scriptures below:

Genesis 3:1-13 NIV

(1)Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?” (2)The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, (3)but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’ ” (4)“You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman. (5)“For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” (6)When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. (7)Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves. (8)Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as He was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden. (9)But the Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?” (10He) answered, “I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid.” (11)And He said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?” (12)The man said, “The woman you put here with me—she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it.” (13)Then the Lord God said to the woman, “What is this you have done?” The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.”

It wasn’t that God did not know where Adam was, because God is omnipresent and He knows everything. He was asking Adam where He was in his relationship with Him. God had given Adam some responsibilities and some rules in the Garden of Eden. His responsibilities were to take care of the Garden and to take care of the wife God had given Him. The rule he was given was to not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, nor touch it. He could eat from any other tree in the Garden except that one tree. All Adam basically had to do was to just trust God and be happy, enjoy life in the Garden with God. How hard could that have been? Because he had been disobedient and rebelled against God. That sin in which he had committed brought separation between Adam and God.

Now, how many of us have been in that same situation as Adam? Where we did something that God had instructed us not to do and we did it anyway. Then after the guilt sets in because of our disobedience to God, we try to hide ourselves from God and He has to ask us, “Where Are You”? Knowing where you are locations wise, but wanting you to tell Him where you are Spiritually with Him. I believe this is a question that God has had to ask all of us at least once in our Christian walk. There are times we all get a little rebellious in little things and big things, knowing God has already told us what to do or not to do. Speaking for myself, I am guilty of that and I am sure you are to, whether you admit it or not.

So, I will as you again, “Where Are You”? Especially with everything that is going on around us today. Are you staying with God, spending time with God, listening to His voice, taking care of the responsibilities He has given you, following all rules and instructions? Or, are you just out there doing your own thing your own way, the worlds way? I pray not, because what you need to remember is that God knows all, God sees all and God hears all. God is everywhere all of the time and you can’t hide from Him, ever. God Bless 🙂

Prayer

Heavenly Father, we come to You in the Mighty Name of Jesus as humble as we know how. Giving You all of the praise, honor and glory that belongs to You. Thanking You for everything that You do for us, Your children daily. We ask that You give us a heart after You, to follow your instructions and be obedient to Your Word. To always seek You and Your face not only in the bad times but in the good times as well. Help us to be obedient to all instructions that You give us and to live our lives in a way that please You at all time. Keeping our minds stayed on You. Amen
