Good Monday Morning. I pray everyone had a safe and blessed weekend, ready to start another week. Praise God and Bless His Holy Name. Thanking Him for waking us up this morning and starting us on our way, His way.
How well do you take care of your body? You do know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, right? 1 Corinthians 6:19 reads, “Or do you know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? So basically, our bodies do not belong to us, they belong to God. And we should treat our bodies as such and being careful of what we allow to go into and onto them.
A good example is when we go and purchase a new car. We do whatever is necessary to take care of the body of that car, inside and outside. Never parking to close to other vehicles to avoid scratches and dents from doors. Making sure it is covered in harsh weather in the winter and the hot sun in the summer. Taking it to get it washed and detailed to make sure it looks good all of the time, clean and shiny. Not allowing just any and everybody to ride and you better not think about eating or drinking in it.
We should take that much pride in our bodies. Being careful of the type of places we go, the type of foods we eat and beverages we drink. What we put before our eyes and what goes into our ears. The type of things we allow to take residence in our hearts and minds. The way we dress and present ourselves as representatives of who God is in our lives. What type of talk and conversation that comes out of our mouths in private and to others. 1 Corinthians 6:20 reads, “For you were bought with a price therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.
So, think about it the next time you allow the world to dictate to you how you should look and dress, and the type of body you should have. You are in this world but not of this world, therefore the world’s rules does not apply to you. John 17:16 reads, “They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.” So, remember who your bodies belong to and treat them as such. You are not your own, you are God’s. Therefore, your body does not belong to you but to God. Have a blessed and God filled day. God Bless 🙂
